I'm engaged!!! Part Two - the Proposal

I had been talking to Dave about a month and I was dying to see my best friend again. I arranged it so I could visit him in Jacksonville, FL where he lives. That happened this past weekend - April 25-28th. I had a wonderful visit! It really was the best weekend of my life!

The Weekend - detailed version
Saturday he met me in the airport. I greeted him with a hug although I wanted to kiss him then (that was a new feeling to me) and take his had and hold it all the way out. I didn't. I'm a chicken. So we went to lunch, he took me to his house and showed me around, then he showed me around NAS Jax, a Navy base there (I love seeing and hearing jets and various aircraft). We walked around, talked and joked some more. Can I say how cool it is that there is a Navy base there?! I got to hear fighters fly overhead! It was great! After the base we went for dinner and came back to his house to watch a couple movies. One movie we watched was Sweet Home Alabama. I had never seen it before but, as I reflect on the course life has taken me over the last few years, I see that my life is similar to hers in some ways. That was the first time we kissed. I knew then that I was in heaven!
Sunday we had cheesecake, then went to Mayport, another Navy installation. We drove around and he showed me other various aircraft and some hmmm marinecraft (is that a word? You can't really call a cruiser or destroyer a boat, can you?) It was soo neat! We walked along the shore on the beach hand-in-hand. It was great to walk and talk with him! We sat on some jetties and talked and watched a sunset. It was a beautiful orange with the silohuette of a cruiser (?) in it. Monday we got to go canoeing. It was beautiful. The temperature was great, it was sunny and warm although there was a bit of a breeze. We just enjoyed the time together completely. When we had to head back to shore we realized it was quite a bit more windy than we thought so it made returning rather difficult. Then we barbequed with one of our friends from college (one of Dave's good friends from college) and had a nice conversation.
The Proposal
Tuesday we did not do much but just before I left we were talking. I wanted to let him know that if he proposed to me, I would say yes. I didn't want there to be a question in his mind because of last time. So, I said, "Dave, I want you to ask me to marry you." and "if you ask, I'll say yes." He said, "Oh, Ok . . . um, wait, now?! Yeah, now!!" I said, "well, uh...I won't say no" (although that was not what I was intending). He jumped up, ran to his room, grabbed the ring, ran out back to be got on his knees and said, "Kristina Anne Marsh, will you marry me?" He put the ring on my finger as I said yes. Then, we realized time flew past and we had to get me to the airport.

It has been sad to be separated since then. I look forward to seeing my best friend every day, to waking up next to him, to fall asleep holding his hand, to going to church with him, to talking and joking with him, to seeing his happy handsome eyes, and so many more things. We have fun just doing grocery shopping together! Anyways, there is no date set yet, but we are hoping for the next 2 or so months. We'll have an LDS sealing in the temple (temple marriage) but we will also have a public ceremony in Jacksonville for the majority of our friends and family who would otherwise miss out. Please send me your address if I don't already have it!
