I know, it has been a long time since I last published. So, what have I been doing while in Washington State? Working and learning, yes these go hand-in-hand. Also, true to my reputation, I have been trying to do some exploring. I went to Mt. Rainier one chilly day off. Because it was rainy/snowy while I was there, I actually did not see Mt. Rainier, but still got to see a beautiful sunset peek through heavy and dark rain clouds with evergreens and mountains in the foreground. It was beautiful!
I also drove to the Oregon coast which is only about 1.5 hours from me. I went to Longbeach and Fort Stevens. We were getting a storm in so I got caught in a storm of pea-sized hail. BTW, it stings when it hits your face. That aside, I got to see the beach with the Pacific Ocean and dark, heavy rain clouds coming in. It, too, was beautiful!
I am amazed by the beauty that surrounds me. My first day driving to my clinic in Toledo, WA I was a little nervous until I saw this view: the sun was rising behind some mountains throwing vivid colors everywhere. Mt. Rainier was on my left with fields and a small farmhouse in the foreground. Mt. St. Helens was on my right in all her beauty. Somehow that helped me to relax and be ready to begin work at my new job. I cannot believe I lived 29 years without seeing all this, and without even living here. It truly is beautiful.
