Blessings: the Generosity of the People Around Me!

I have to tell you about some great experiences I have had over the last few weeks.

Firstly, for about six weeks I stayed with a family from our Branch. At the time they offered their spare room, they really did not know me. He had just been called to the Branch Presidency for a couple of weeks and she had been out of town. They still offered their spare room. I had no idea how long I would be there. They were so generous about me and Angie staying there! I was really touched by this great show of generosity.

Secondly, as a part of the adventure to moving to Washington, I had my car and stuff shipped out and flew to Seattle. As if to underscore the need to leave Philly, my wallet was stolen while I was in-flight from Philly to my layover in Houston! You would not believe what logistical challenges presented themselves! Aside from not having a credit card, my Driver's License was in it. To go to the Houston Lost and Found area, I would have had to exit security. That means not coming back through! I had to rent a car to get to where I would be living but I could not because I had no Driver's License. Even if the State of PA confirmed that my license is in good standing, they still could not rent to me! Anyways, the great blessing in all this was a reminder of how great my family is, and how generous people - strangers - can be.

I arrived at work a couple days after landing in Seattle (after having taken a bus to my new house) to complete some paperwork. The Medical Director pulled me into his office. He had heard about my challenges in renting a car. He said, "my wife and I have two cars. We can loan you one of ours until yours gets here." I was dumbfounded! I hardly knew him, yet he is offerring me the use of his car!

People really are great! People, even strangers, can be thoughtful and generous! Always remember that!

Hope you're having a great holiday season!

OKay, so this is depressing. I went to every job link I could think of AND every job link on your site and what? there are NO jobs in my area. Glad to know I paid tens of thousands of dollars just so I could sit at home and blog. BTW, that's what you should be doing!!
